The Dark Stone of Invisibility was given to Sphinx by Horus at the opening of Great Wall Entrance I. Imhotep stops Sphinx from using it, saying that it has the ability to kill. Instead, he suggested giving it to Bas-Ket to deliver the stone to Tutankhamen since he was already dead. Tutankhamen would then use it to sneak past Set's Eyes.
The Dark Stone of Invisibility is extremely useful with the exception of the fact that if the user moves, the invisibility will disable itself, oftentimes exposing the user to whatever it is trying to sneak past. It doesn't work while in fire, electric, paper, bat, or smoke forms.
