  • February 19, 2003 - Sphinx (working title) is announced[1] in a press release.
  • Summer, 2003 - Game renamed to Sphinx and the Shadow of Set.
  • Fall, 2003 - Game renamed to Sphinx and the Misfortunate Mummy[2].
  • November 10, 2003 - Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy is released in North America (NTSC) for PlayStation 2, GameCube and Xbox by THQ.
  • February 20, 2004 - Released in Europe (PAL).
  • April 3, 2004 - Released in Korea [3] (NTSC-J).
  • August 19, 2004 - Release of the mobile Java ME version.
  • December 6, 2012 - Eurocom files for bankruptcy.
  • December 19, 2012 - THQ files for bankruptcy.
  • December 5, 2016 - THQ Nordic buys the rights[4] from EightPixelsSquare.
  • January 10, 2017 - Swyter starts developing the PC remaster for THQ Nordic.
  • October 30, 2017 - The PC version is publicly announced[5] in a press release.
  • November 10, 2017 - The remastered version of the game is released on Steam and GOG for PC (Windows, Linux and macOS). The official soundtrack is also released as an optional DLC.
  • February 19, 2018 - Released the Authoring Tools on Steam and GOG. Including beta levels and EuroLand.
  • November 12, 2018 - Announced a Nintendo Switch version[6] of the game in a press release.
  • January 29, 2019 - THQ Nordic releases the remastered version on Nintendo Switch[7].
  • June 10, 2019 - The original Xbox version of the game is now playable on Xbox One[8] after being included in the final batch of titles for the Backward Compatibility program, via emulation.
  • March 11, 2022 - The soundtrack DLC got replaced with the lossless version of the original tracks and their titles were renamed.[9]
  • March 15, 2022 - The Linux version is now verified by Valve to work flawlessly and natively on their portable Steam Deck handheld.[10]
