Traits, Appearance, and Abilities[]
The Electric Eel has a long green body with an ugly face. It gives off an electric charge that makes water lethal to enter. These creatures infested Abydos's waters.
Strategy for Sphinx[]
There is no way to kill the eels; use boats and platforms to avoid the affected water.

- The Electric Eel is one of the monsters already on display at the Abydos Museum.
- Electric Eels are some of the few real-life animals in the game.
- After their brief appearance in a cutscene upon Sphinx exiting the Abydos sewers, they are not seen again.
- The Electric Eel has a cut entry to the Book of Sphinx found in the games SphinxText.XLS file. The entry reads "A snakelike fish capable of emitting electric charges. Electric Eels are aggressive and territorial creatures, and in large quantities have been known to electrify vast areas of water."
