The Eye of Ra was a laser ray used in the Castle of Uruk by Set in Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy. The same effect was used in Eye of Ra Posts.

History Edit

The Eye of Ra is seen from the very start of the game, shooting vertically upwards from the depths of the Castle of Uruk. While this was its idle form, it could also aim itself at intruders from the disc in the central tower.

While in the Outskirts of the Castle of Uruk, Horus was struck by it while attempting to retrieve the Blade of Osiris. It destroyed the bridge he was on, but he survived, plummeting onto a rock floating in lava. Later on, Sphinx was struck by one while trying to get a portal amulet.

The ray was powered by the Sacred Crown of Set. When Tutankhamen removed the crown, the ray still functioned, but with severely reduced power.

Connection with Ancient EgyptEdit

The Eye of Ra is a term used to identify Sekhmet, since she was created from one of his eyes. She possessed power over heat and light, and was a war goddess; these themes fit well with the ray.

Trivia Edit

  • It is not to be confused with the Eternal Eye of Ra mentioned in the prophecy of Ra.
